a large red fiberglass sink filled with four inches of white soapy
water. The surface of the water has large soap bubbles that add to
the three dimensionality, and conceptual base, of the projected image.
The woman’s mouth (the artist’s) spells out swear words
in a cocky and precocious manner. Interspersed are scenes of the mouth
being aggressively washed out with a bar of soap.

Physical Description:
Two video monitors disguised with flowers sit upon two long
leafy ‘stems’, which ‘grow’ out of a large
flowerpot. The first monitor (A) is covered in hundreds of artist-made foam and fabric flowers, each with unique centers and fantastical
stamen. The second monitor (B) is covered in a luscious selection
of silk and cloth flowers interspersed with fabric embroidered butterflies
and insects.
As one approaches the colorful video sculpture ambient birdsong, and
buzzing bees can be heard (from the base of the planter). Beautiful flower
blossoms unfold on the monitors and viewers are invited to “eavesdrop
on the secret souls of flowers” through headphones.

a glass wall is projected onto a large sheet of laminated safety glass
that is hung approximately three feet from the wall. The glass has
been cracked and painted in several places so that the video image
is simultaneously visible on both the glass and the rear wall resulting
in a 3D effect. A woman raises a red kitchen pot and swings it against
the glass in an attempt to break through. The image of the woman remains
on the rear wall, but as the red pot strikes, its image is seen three
feet in front of her on the glass surface. As the pot hits, large cracks
transverse both projection surfaces. Audio is of the performers grunts
and exertions, and the sharp cracking and tinkling of glass.

Physical Description:
Colorful mandala-like designs quickly shift in design and
hue as they transform into thousands of vibrant new patterns. The video
was made by video taping an afghan blanket for one hour. This master
tape was then played back at high speed on a digital video deck and
the images re-recorded. This re-recording process was repeated numerous
times, eventually rendering the one-hour master tape down to thirteen
minutes. For every second of the thirteen-minute video, adjustments
to design, color, and composition were made using computer editing,
thus resulting in the thousands of flowing final designs. Complex rhythmic
audio gives the work a hypnotic pulse.

This slow gazing eye was designed for, and screened, on a
large wall in the Whitney Museum of Art , NYC. As museum guests used
the main staircase to the lower level they were carefully ‘observed’ by
this massive eye. With each new blink the slow-gazing naked eye reveals
itself briefly bejeweled.
Candle Chandelier

Slow motion flickering candles arranged in various chandelier
designs ( art deco, classical, Zen lamps, etc ) are projected onto
the ceiling. In each chandelier arrangement the candles, individually

large projection casts a warm and elegant flickering glow downwards.
Ambrosia
 
Physical Description:
Slow moving images of Japanese carp, falling blossoms, waterfalls,
etc. are projected onto the large white wall behind the restaurant's
sushi bar. Ambrosia restaurant is located in the Armory district in
the heart of Syracuse. The large colorful video projection creates
a gentle contemporary atmosphere for patrons inside the restaurant.
Due to the restaurants large wrap around windows, the video is clearly
visible from the surrounding streets adding vibrancy to the nightlife
in the Armory.
Bottles
 
Physical Description:
White plastic is vacuum-formed over several rows of bottles.
Tranquil images of the sea, storm clouds and rain are slowly transform
into brightly colored drops of liquid that accumulate across the large
sculptured screen of bottles. Audio of liquid dripping and sputtering
out of bottles is heard. By the end of the video the sculptured
form is covered in mustard - yellow, ketchup-red and chocolate syrup
swirls that turn it into an abstract expressionist painting.
